Dimazon is a potent saluretic type of diuretic for parenteral administration to cattle, horses, cats and dogs. It has been indicated in the treatment of oedemata associated with cardiac insufficiency, or renal dysfunction, as well trauma cases where there was significant blood loss due to injury.
Dimazon for cattle and horses is a solution for injection. The active ingredient is Frusemide (Furosemide). Dimazon is a clear yellowish liquid stored in a 10ml vial.

Dimazon should be administered 1 or 2 times daily at intervals of 12 to 14 hours. Specific animal Dimazon dosage is as follows:

Do not use in cases of acute glomerulonephritis renal failure with anuria, electrolyte deficiency disease or overdosage with digitalis.
Do not use concurrently with aminoglycoside antibiotic treatment.
The therapeutic effect may be impaired by increased intake of drinking water. So far as the patient's condition allows, the amount of drinking water should be restricted.
Do not use in cases of hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the excipients.
Too rapid injection in dogs may cause staggering and vomiting.
Can be used during pregnancy and lactation.
Care should be taken to avoid accidental self-injection. If irritation occurs, seek medical attention, showing the product label to a doctor.

Withdrawals | Cattle: Meat and offal: 28 days. Milk: 24 hours. Horses: Not to be used in horses intended for human consumption. Treated horses may never be slaughtered for human consumption. The horse must have been declared as not intended for human consumption under national horse passport legislation. |
