Deosect for horses is a fly and lice topical spray that will keep horse flies and lice under control.
Deosect is a topical spray. The active ingredient is Cypermethrin. Deosect is a clear yellow liquid free from solids available in a 250ml bottle.

Deosect must be diluted and mixed with water to make a solution just before use. A knapsack, hand sprayer or a sponge may be used to apply the solution. The solution should be used within 24 hours. Avoid spraying directly into animals eyes. One litre of Deosect should be diluted with 50 litres of water.
For horses, 500ml of diluted Deosect is recommended. For ponies, 125ml. Application on a medium to fine spray is advisable to avoid fogging.
For fly control, Deosect should be used during the fly season and be repeated monthly or every two weeks for severe head and face fly control. For lice, apply when these are discovered and repeat as necessary at minimum intervals of 14 days.

Do not spray in or near milking parlours or where milking machinery may be contaminated.
Deosect belongs to the pyrethroid group. Possible undesirable effects can be irritation and allergic reactions on the skin.
Deosect can be safely used during pregnancy and lactation.

Fly Control The application of the solution should commence at the onset of the fly season and be repeated monthly for general fly control and every two weeks for severe head and face fly control.
